Gizem Akman

Gizem Akman is a graduate of the Mimar Sinan State Conservatory, Department of Contemporary Dance (Istanbul / Turkey) and now lives in Berlin. She works as an interdisciplinary dancer / performer, choreographer and actress. Since her youth she has been active in the fields of contemporary dance techniques, improvisation and movement research. For 15 years she has been working as a butoh dancer under the mentorship of various masters, including Tetsuro Fukuhara. She has prepared and participated in various performances. She has also attended workshops on Space Dance and New Butoh.
