Elias Aboud was born in 1988 in Syria.He has a bachelor’s degree in percussion as well as composition from the Damascus University of Music in 2011, in addition to a degree in classical percussion from the Barenboim-Said Academy in Berlin in 2021.He also has a composition degree from the Academy of Music “Hanns Eisler”.
After moving to Germany in 2014 because of the war in Syria, he has already performed at numerous festivals in Europe. Since 2017 he is a member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra under Daniel Barenboim, with which he has performed in the Hausfest Salzburg, CCK Buenos Aires, Philharmonie in Berlin, Philharmonie de Paris, Philharmonie in Cologne, Waldbühne in Berlin. He also plays with various ensembles such as Boulez Ensemble, Asambura. He is the founder of the Ramal Ensemble.
His first composition ”Bus station” for theater was performed on 2012 in Damascus opera house. and his own compositions he played in different places like the Philharmonie in Berlin the Pierre Boulez Saal, Rudolstadt Fest and kunstfest Weimar.
