Rima Khcheich is a Lebanese vocalist known for her mastery of classical Arabic music and her cross-cultural collaborations with jazz musicians. She blends traditional tarab with contemporary influences, creating a unique sound while staying deeply rooted in her heritage.
Maarten Ornstein
Maarten Ornstein is a Dutch clarinetist, saxophonist, and composer known for his work across jazz, classical, and world music. In collaboration with the Rima Khcheich Trio, he brings a refined improvisational voice that bridges European jazz sensibilities with Arabic musical traditions, adding depth and texture to the ensemble’s sound.
Tony Overwater
Tony Overwater is an award-winning Dutch double bassist known for blending jazz with Arab music. He developed a unique technique to play Arabic maqams on the bass and collaborates with international artists, creating cross-cultural projects that bridge the Middle East and Europe.
Levant Echo Trio

Cham Saloum
Cham Saloum is a Syrian oud player and composer based in Berlin. Her work moves between Arabic musical tradition, contemporary music, and jazz, shaped by early training with Sherine Tohamy and Naseer Shamma. Since moving to Germany in 2015, she has performed internationally with orchestras and ensembles across Europe, developing a distinctive voice that bridges heritage and modern experimental music.
Elias Abboud
Syrian percussionist and composer, Elias Aboud is a soloist, chamber musician, and founder of the Ramal Ensemble. Blending Arabic music with contemporary and electroacoustic forms, he composes for theatre, solo, and chamber projects, performing internationally and leading music initiatives for children and refugees
Roshanak Rafani
Roshanak is an experienced Iranian percussionist and music educator specializing in Daf, Tombak, and other traditional Persian percussion instruments. She began her musical journey at the age of eight and later studied classical percussion in Tehran, alongside academic studies in social sciences. Since 2014, she has been teaching Daf and Tombak in Iran and Germany, and is currently based in Berlin, where she continues her studies at the Barenboim-Said Academy. Roshanak has performed with various orchestras and ensembles internationally and is also active as a dedicated music teacher at the Global Music Academy in Berlin.
