A captivating musical experience led by Syrian singer Basma Jabr, where the roots of Arabic music meet the spirit of jazz and contemporary experimentation in a vibrant and ever-evolving dialogue.
Basma Jabr Quartett creates a rich sonic landscape, weaving Eastern sounds with free improvisation, transforming each song into a space for deep emotional expression. From Arabic maqams to modern rhythms, the ensemble takes its audience on a journey that transcends cultural boundaries and reimagines the female voice in a contemporary context.
Between nostalgia and renewal, between East and West, this project creates a unique moment of live connection with music—where sound is not merely performed, but truly experienced.
Basma Jabr
Syrian-Austrian singer and composer based in Vienna, Basma Jabr blends Arabic maqam with jazz, improvisation, and contemporary composition.
Her voice navigates emotional depth and tradition with innovation, delivering intimate and powerful performances. She has performed internationally and released the album Furat, honoring Arab female artists.
Mahan Mirarab
Iranian multi-neck guitarist and composer based in Vienna, Mahan Mirarab fuses contemporary jazz, European classical, and Iranian traditions.
His music explores migration, memory, and identity.
He teaches jazz oud and maqam, collaborates widely, and develops works spanning jazz, experimental, folk, and interdisciplinary projects.
András Dés
Hungarian percussionist, composer, and educator based in Vienna. András Dés works in jazz, world music, and contemporary performance, collaborating with leading artists and performing globally.

Daniele Camarda
Italian bassist, composer, and improviser, Daniele Camarda combines global string traditions with live electronics, improvisation, and contemporary jazz.
Touring worldwide, he collaborates with leading artists and works across jazz, world music, electronic, and experimental genres, also composing for film, dance, and theatre.

Syria meets Europe: A Musical Journey
Improvisations and reinterpretations of Arabic and classical pieces—an unprecedented encounter between Syria and Europe, bridging diverse backgrounds with a shared vision.
This project was born and raised in the heart of the Genoese music scene, where a penchant for research and improvisation meets traditional Arabic folk music.
Mirna Kassis
Opera singer from Damascus, now based in Genoa, Mirna Kassis blends classical Arabic vocal traditions with contemporary performance.
Her expressive voice bridges Middle Eastern heritage and modern artistic interpretation, offering emotive and refined performances.

İpek İpekçioğlu is a Berlin- and Istanbul-based DJ, producer, and curator known internationally for her electrifying cross-cultural DJ sets and her distinctive musical concept “Eklektik BerlinIstan.” Blending electronic music with sounds from Turkey, the Middle East, Anatolia, and the Balkans, she has developed a unique artistic language that merges psychedelic Turkish funk, Balkan folk, Kurdish halay, Anatolian melodies, disco, techno, house, and global dance rhythms into powerful and unpredictable club experiences.
A central figure in Berlin’s multicultural nightlife scene, İpek has performed at major international festivals including Glastonbury, Fusion Festival, Sziget, Berlin Festival, and At.tension, and in clubs and venues around the world from New York, Los Angeles, and São Paulo to Istanbul, Cairo, and New Delhi. Her sets are known for their dynamic energy and genre-defying musical journeys, where traditional sounds meet contemporary electronic beats.
Often described as the “Queen of Eklektik BerlinIstan,” İpek has earned a reputation as one of the most influential DJs in Berlin’s global music scene. Her music bridges cultures and dance traditions, creating spaces where audiences from diverse backgrounds connect through rhythm and movement.
Beyond the DJ booth, İpek works extensively as a curator, cultural organizer, and educator. She has curated numerous cultural programmes and live music events, including the Beyond Istanbul Live Sessions and the ImPort-ExPort stage at MyFest in Berlin-Kreuzberg, attracting thousands of visitors. She has also served as music director of the CrossKultur Festival and collaborated with institutions such as Radialsystem Berlin, Maxim-Gorki Theater, and the Berlinale festival.
Deeply engaged with social and cultural issues, İpek’s work addresses themes of migration, queer identity, feminism, and intercultural dialogue. Through performances, workshops, and lectures, she explores the political and social dimensions of club culture and hybrid musical identities. She is also a member of the international female electronic musicians network female:pressure and a board member of Reboot FM, Berlin’s independent radio station.
With her vibrant sound and strong cultural vision, İpek İpekçioğlu continues to redefine the possibilities of global club music, transforming dance floors into spaces of musical discovery, cultural exchange, and collective celebration.
